About The Secret Florist

The Secret Florist is a home-based floristry service for the Inner West Community. We offer weekly bouquets on Sundays, custom flower bouquets and classic book rebind and flower gifts. 

My name is De and I have lived in Sydney my whole life. I have spent the past 20 years working as a special educator and teacher/teacher librarian until deciding that family life and teaching don't mix very well. 

The Secret Florist began with a yearning for a space of beauty and depth and to share this with others. Spending my life absorbed in books about the English countryside and dreaming of running on the Yorkshire moors or through the wildflower meadows, I found a way to honour those two things whilst living in the city. 

After working on book rebinds of modern romance books as co-owner of Books on the Edge, I decided to start working on the books that I love, the classics. An ADHD diagnosis lead me to consider working with my hands and I took the plunge to study floristry. 

As an AuDHDer, I have found my peace in lovingly redesigning classic book covers and working with gorgeous blooms. It is my hope to share these moment of peace and beauty with others.
